Controlling the atom-sphere interaction with an external electric field

چکیده

We investigate the system constituted by a polarizable atom near nanosphere under influence of an external electrostatic field, showing that attractive dispersive force between them can be overcome interaction. Therefore, in addition to advantageous possibility actively tuning resultant with agent without requirement physical contact, this may also become repulsive. analyze situation different regimes distance and explore interaction atoms both metallic dielectric spheres, discussing which cases are easier control. Furthermore, our results reveal these repulsive forces achieved feasible field intensities laboratory.
